We were very generously invited to try @poulet.royal.restaurant, recently opened near Concordia University, and the welcome set the tone right away—warm, thoughtful, and clearly rooted in pride for what they’re building. Our new friend and co-owner Felix’s enthusiasm is especially telling; it’s the kind that only comes from knowing your food speaks for itself.
The menu keeps things focused without feeling limited: bowls, fried chicken tenders, wraps, and burgers all built around chicken that is genuinely exceptional. It’s remarkably tender, carefully prepared, and seasoned with confidence.
It may actually be the best “fast food” chicken we’ve ever had.
The spice blend has real depth, the coating isn’t heavy or greasy, and the spicy option actually earns its name.
Then there are the sauces. Twelve of them, each distinct, all worth trying. The King and Queen sauces stand out, but the real pleasure is the range—nothing feels like an afterthought. I was handed a generously filled cup of the King sauce and briefly felt the temptation to drink it straight 😅.
What makes @poulet.royal.restaurant work is conviction. They believe in what they’re serving, and that belief shows in every detail—no shortcuts, no compromises. “Royal” isn’t just branding here; it feels earned. If you care about fried chicken done properly, this place deserves your attention.
