We chose @tavernesquare for our annual Christmas get-together this year, and it turned out to be a solid spot for a relaxed but well-put-together evening.

The atmosphere is lively and social, with a sense of polish that doesn’t feel forced. Drinks were well made and consistent, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the night without fuss.

We had heard a lot about their Mac n’ Cheese, so we ordered it out of curiosity. It’s a rich, thoughtfully prepared dish with a blend of cheeses and pancetta which adds depth. While it’s clearly made with quality ingredients, the $42 price for a regular portion feels high, especially for a dish that’s often associated with comfort rather than luxury.

Dessert was incredible. The rich chocolate mousse with Amarena cherries was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet—the cherries adding just the right contrast to the chocolate.

Overall, Tavern Square offers a good mix of energy and refinement. It’s elevated without feeling stiff, making it a comfortable choice for a group gathering or a special occasion without the need for formality.
