When you hear good things about a restaurant and think maybe it’s all hype or maybe if enough people say it’s good, it must be good, right?
Unfortunately our experience was the former.
The aesthetically pleasing @gonbuiresto is sadly just that. All looks and very little quality. Very small portions for the price, very average, unsatisfactory, deceptive Chinese fusion at best which we would like to talk more about but the quantity was just too little… to the point where we actually went next door to @escondite_mtl for a quesadilla afterwards. Furthermore we had an incredibly long wait despite a semi-empty house.
(I received my appetizer after the other person had their appetizer, full meal and enough time to completely finish it. It also took 45 minutes to get the bill once I was done) all this would lead us to believe the hype created by paid, seemingly click bait ads and guerilla marketing is regrettably not justified.
We do not visit restaurants as invited guests with the red carpet rolled out for us. We show up as faceless as our food oriented blog and get the common persons treatment. We do this deliberately to ensure a genuine experience.
