It’s that time of year again where we indulge in the sugary glory of the plantae kingdom – one of the benefits of living in this part of the world.
This year we managed to reserve earlier and visit the very popular @erabliere_charbonneau
A family friendly, large wooden Cabane à Sucre with treehouse-style jungle gyms in the surrounding forest (Forest Gym, is that a thing? I’m coining it) and a small enclosure with animals.
Serving authentic traditional sugar shack food such as fèves au lard, oreilles de crisse, sausages, bacon, pet de soeur and all the classics. Beyond that the tourtière pockets with beef and apple were a unique surprise and the sugar pie was absolutely divine! We had la tire sur glace, of course, which came with a disclaimer that it is 98% sugar, as if that would stop us from getting seconds 😅.
All do this was “à volonté” (all you can eat) and our volonté was pretty high.
We loved the extra details here such as the person with an apple juice container on his back walking around giving people free samples and the specially brewed red beer with maple called “Cabanak” 😂 (it was pretty good too).

If we have any complaints at all it would only be a case of being a victim of their own success/popularity as there is not much room while seated to move around and a loooot of people everywhere. The service however, was excellent, quick and amicable despite the large crowds of people.
