Brockville Railway Tunnel

Brockville Railway Tunnel

Rating: 8 out of 10.

Last week we took our talents to Brockville On. Our first stop as we arrived was Canada’s First Railway Tunnel

Completed in1860 and spanning 527m, passing under Brockville City Hall it was used until the mid-1970s.
It was renovated in 2016 and can be accessed by foot and features coloured LED lights and music. The caboose was also refurbished and can be visited.

We enjoyed a walk through (and back) but you can take a tour on a little train which we thought was super cute. As far as historical Canadian landmarks go, we think this one is worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.
