We were invited to @katsuya_montreal prior to their soft opening, which is today, June 13, at 5 p.m. The Japanese fusion restaurant, a chain originating in Toronto, has opened its first location here in Montreal. To celebrate, they are offering 50% OFF their Original Katsu today only.  On June 14 & 15, they are offering free cheese balls (which are amazing, by the way).

We tried most of the menu, and all of it was honestly incredible, but what stood out to us the most was:

• Red Carbonara Udon: A delicious and very spicy Carbonara sauce made our taste buds dance.
• Honeycomb Katsu: A wonderful sauce and perfectly cooked tender chicken.
• Cheese balls: do we really need to explain why? Soft, cheesy, and very addictive.
• Honey Fries: Sweet fries that almost taste like dessert. We couldn’t stop eating them.
• Highball Yuzu: A great, refreshing, perfectly balanced drink of whiskey, tonic, and yuzu.

An extremely friendly staff and excellent menu. We are very thankful to have been invited to try this for the first time in Montreal and would definitely return anytime we’re in the area.
