Renzo Sandwich

Renzo Sandwich

Rating: 7 out of 10.

@renzosandwich has been getting a lot of buzz on social media lately, and naturally, we had to see if all the hype was warranted.
First, the place has a vintage, retro, almost nostalgic decor that feels like it belongs in a different era—despite the fact that it’s brand new. This style seems to have become a signature of @menarddworkind lately.

That said, while the decor is Instagram-worthy and certainly draws in the crowds, it also seems to distract from the focus that  should be on the food.

Speaking of which, we decided to go with the “Sub Classique”—it sounded like a simple choice that we felt would give us a solid sense of the place. And in terms of size? It’s definitely filling. This sandwich is loaded with ingredients, enough to leave you feeling full for hours. But here’s the thing: while it has a lot going on, none of the ingredients really stand out on their own. They all seem to blend into one generic taste. But, maybe we’re missing the point? 🤷‍♂️

At $16, it’s about average for sandwiches of that size, but for that price, we were hoping for a little more. The bread, in particular, isn’t for us; it wasn’t to the point where it rips the inside of your mouth apart, but almost. The ingredients didn’t feel as fresh as they could have either.

They make a solid sandwich, but it didn’t quite wow us in terms of quality or flavor.

Is it a place to check out? Sure, if you’re hungry, into the aesthetic and the experience. But if you’re there for an unforgettable sandwich, you might be left feeling a little underwhelmed.
